The last couple of days has generated a fear of our "local" paper manipulating news to create a negative atmosphere at our club.

That David Prentice saying we're in for a shock and bad news - only to listen to Lukaku demanding we be more ambitious - which has been the focal viewpoint of EVertonian's.

I've also just seen an article regarding taxi drivers protesting over Everton still allowing the S*n to report at Goodison and USM Finch Farm.

The headline says we have DECIDED NOT to ban them - although we have not even been in discussions to do so yet or been able to?

Quite shocking really from a local paper which highlights our neighbours in glory la la land but us in constant despair despite all the recent positive performances.

The Echo is a Kopite rag.

Always has been.

Always will be.

The last couple of days

It has been going on for a lot longer than a couple of days. The scaremongering over Lukaku has been added to today by Greg O Keefe suggesting that Tom Davies will be next to leave - absolutely shocking attempt to further destabilise the club.

You can speculate all you want about the reasons for this: the constant pro-LFC bias, the reporters being in BK's pocket, the constant revelling in negative news about the Blues etc etc.

There is only one way to fight back: don't buy it, don't click on it, don't retweet it. Tell all your friends to do the same. If all Blues boycotted it, the rag would go under. There are plenty of other sources of news available.

It was David Prentice last night - "Lukaku wants Everton to be ambitious - oh well see you later Lukaku unlucky everton fans lets see who else we can get"

He's meant to be a blue

The Echo won't be banned, the club are actively trying to improve the relationship between the two.

First think the club need to do is to get that Koppite piece of trash Walsh away from any Everton reporting, bloke who has appeared on redmen tv and the anfield wrap being one of the Everton reporting staff (never mind the fact he is that impartial he was in floods of tears at Crystanbul)

Correct, but we can hit it where it hurts - in the circulation (including clicks). If all Blues boycott it, it would be holed below the waterline and the sooner the better...

i'm a southern toffee but i try to keep up with the local news because you'd hope they'd be acurate when it comes to Everton but all they seem to do is take snidey little digs at us and find the bad in what ever we do.

I know who you mean. He's not the only Red they have writing about us like but that's just the way they operate.

Bar the main editors and club writers like Prentice, Greg and Kirkbride, there's two or three who write about both.

They'd survive on Liverpool clicks alone. Ok, they'd be severely under their click targets but they'd have enough to survive.

Perhaps. We should give it a go, though and make life uncomfortable for them financially. Every Blue needs to ask themselves if they are doing enough to make this happen. Don't buy it, don't click on it. I have cut it out of my twitter feed but still occasionally see pro-Blues retweeting the dross from the Red Echo. Spread the word.

The prevailing ethos now is that, even before the Hillsborough disaster, nobody on the Kop ever read The Sun.

I guarantee that some of these current zealots, are the same people who would sneer and make comments as I read the Guardian in the alehouse before a derby game.

The Sun is a vile, lying, Tory, 'empty head' rag, that descended to unimaginable depths
in attempting to distort the truth, and then smear a whole city.

I hope Everton do ban this chip paper, but I wish some people would drop this 'holier than thou' attitude.

I write this as the Echo is making a front page splash today of taxi drivers outside Goodison, lobbying for the club to ban the rag.

Kopite rag. If Liverpool lose two games they are pressuring the board or the manager constantly calling for new signings. We had decades of underachievement and they didn't pressure the board at all. Elstone has had them in his pocket for ages just to continue the plucky little Everton reporting in exchange for not exposing the crippling underperformance.
