Right guys, another update on Sergei.
I've just got back from his and with the help of my two lads, somehow managed to get the sofa in off the landing!

Sergei is delighted with all the help he's received.
I'm slightly less delighted.

Q. What's worse than doing nothing?
A. Offering to do something and then doing nothing.

Sergei still needs a washing machine (hopefully may be provided by the council), a Hoover, pots and pans for cooking, cutlery and a waste bin.

Let's have one last push please lads, to really make things better for Sergei.
Please.
Thanks for listening.

Will get pots and pans and cutlery and drop them off Tuesday. @Russian Evertonian

Lads, I am sure everyone who has offered help has intended to do so and made a genuine offer.

I'm also old enough to know that some people end up doing more than they intended and others less for a raft of reasons.

Best to look at it from a collective point of a view rather than singling out the good and the bad. Sergei has had tremendous support from the GOT community let's leave it at that.

Sergei no doubt knows who has done what, and I'm sure is enormously grateful for everything. I'm sure there's more help to come too but let's remember noone is under any obligation even if they've offered something.

If you've offered something and for whatever reason it doesn't happen just let Sergei know privately and perhaps someone else can step in.

This has been a great example of blues caring for a fellow blue, no need to hold individuals to account.

Well.done everyone, several of you have shown exceptional kindness which is just brilliant.

If it were my place, I would take the following into account, but berate me as required.
If the painting is getting done this week, has anyone got a five or preferably 6 step ladder that could be dropped round. The prep work and painting of the picture rail in the lounge (at least) will require the use of one or a human pyramid!
Anyone got a spare mop or brush, as they are often ideal to use as a roller extension for ceilings and emulsion above the picture rail?
I'm OK at painting, but a bit out of practice, but if anyone wants to jump in feel free. If the prep work is done, will come down half a day to do undercoat and half a day for glossing (don't do mornings and if I do it's for my clients), so get the sandpaper out and get a key on the woodwork @Russian Evertonian !
Not sure how many brush sets and rollers are there so do you need to bring your own?
Anyone got any dust sheets to cover the furniture that can't be easily moved? (Flaming sofas)

Speaking of the sofas, @Frodsham Blue how easy (or difficult) is it to move the sofas from one room to another?
Reason being, if carpets being fitted by a pro will probably want a clear room.

FAO all Liverpool based Evertonians
After three days of choosing I picked a flat in Anfield (Walton Breck Road) which is good. It's 2 bedroom, which means I can finally bring my family a bit later. No deposite and the price is ok.
The only problem and the big problem that the flat is absolutely empty and I will move there in a few days.
No cooker, no microwave, no washing machine, no Hoover, no sofa or bed, no table and chairs. Nothing is there.
So if somebody suddenly have something that you don't need or you wanna help me, it will be very much appreciated.
Also my only friend here (@layliffe) is ill now and didn't response. He promised to help me with a lift from Manchester as I have so many things I need to bring with me from my shared house in Manchester to the new flat in Liverpool. So if somebody will go from Manchester to Liverpool in a few days or somebody can meet me at the Lime Street at least that would be great.

@Darth Vader this will give you a flavour mate.
Sort of grew from that to the flat being sorted for basics with a lot of help from a lot of great posters from GOT
