Anyone here using either of these? I've got an old PC at home that is just almost unusable. I keep all of my mp3s on there, but that's about it. Maybe some downloading and browsing but nothing hard core. Any feedback positive or negative on this? I have limited disc space left, so it can't take up much room if at all. I'd happily replace Windows, but I don't want to lose my data.

Buy a back up USB or HDMI external Hard Drive , retail about $60 or £50 here for 500GB up to 1 TB.

If its a desktop system would happily sit on your desk.

Back up to that, or use it as expansion space.

Any of the current distro's are decent. I personally use CentOS. or redhat.

I'd prefer to not spend ANY money, that was the whole point. I do have Carbonite, and online back up tool, but haven't tried to retrieve anything from there yet...

What language is this thread in. I've put a few quotes into Google translator and it doesn't recognise any of them, even klingon.
