Only a couple of times in the Copa America last year. Ecuador were rubbish as well, so maybe not the best games to judge from. You might be right about the defensive mid differences in countries, I personally think he'll be good despite any of this just cos hes decent, big and fast. He's the only Ecuadorian midfielder I can remember, so that probably tells you something.
Hopefully he'll turn out to be amazing.

He's the guy that gets done like an idiot for both of Chile's first two goals and he sets up Ecuador's second with a header as well. You can kinda see what I mean the way he runs around everywhere. I really like watchin Copa America, the fans and the players just love it so much.
