A story from Limpar himself regarding him and Rooney.

Apparently Limpar was invited by Everton to see the game against Man U and afterwards the two clubs had set up a meeting between him and Rooney (who apparently had his wall filled with posters of Limpar when he grew up). But when Limpar tried to get to England there were absolutely NO tickets to be had so he couldn't get there in time. He will be on the stands to watch our game against Newcastle though.

He also said that he would love to have a picture of himself and Rooney standing next to eachother and give eachother a signed shirt.. while wondering who would have the wobbliest legs.. him or Rooney..

I was made up when we signed Limpar, surprised as well.

We played some top stuff with him and Kanchelskis down the flanks, not to mention other quality players. I felt at the time that we were a great side, on the verge of something special.
