Level Playing Field?

We have our strongest squad in my lifetime (21 years), whilst the Premier League seems to have dipped in quality. If we strengthen this summer (I know, I know....) next season could be one to remember, especially considering it looks very possible that we will not be in Europe (although personally I still think we will).

(y) But how? You predicting a run up the table, or an automatic bid from winning a cup?

I think we can press on up the table. A win today against Sunderland puts us within goal difference of the top half, with a game still in hand over a lot of the teams above us.

We've been playing far better recently. The 2nd half against Tottenham, the draw with Chelsea, and the draw with Birmingham, they all showed an improvement on each other. My feeling is that this improvement will continue and we will be winning games before long.

Last season when we were 12 points behind Villa I predicted with absolute certainty that we would finish above them. When we drew Liverpool in the 4th round of the cup, for the first time in my life I bet on us winning it (33/1)...slightly wrong with that, but not a mile away!

The same feeling tells me that this season could very well end up okay (y)

It's our destiny!

First title in 1891 & then we also win the title every 24 years since : 1891 ; 1915 ; 1939 ; 1963 ; 1987 ; 2011 (y) (?)

But wasn't it a case of us never going longer than 14 years without a trophy. FA cup in 1995 so therefor it was our destiny to win soemthing by 2009.

And look what happened there!

Sorry :(

Don't know where you got that one from : 1891-1906 ; 1939-1963.
15 years from our first League title to our first Cup win & then 24 years between our 5th & 6th league titles.

No, it's not. The 1940's & 1950's were barren - our greatest success was gaining promotion in 1954 & even then we were Division 2 runners-up to Leicester City (on goal-difference, I think).
