To be fair to Utd fans in general they were getting the biggest crowds in England when they were in the 2nd division. They contued in this vain for the next 20 years despite having no success domestically apart from the odd cup win. Whereas the rs built up a big fanbase on their domestic domination and European success in the 70s and 80s. They continued to be big spenders and have even fluked another couple of European trophies and until recently CL qualifiers virtually every year. Give them a few more years outside the top 6 and a year in the championship and let's see how many fans turn up to analfield.
