I'd say it was the best time, if he gets injured will have time to recover for start of season.

there was me thinking the transfer window had just opened and arsenal and city were sniffing around for a new center back.

What's most important is he come back in one piece? I believe that was the case and to be training with some of the top player in England is going to improve his game.
