Lescott Interview

Did he ever come out during the whole saga and say he wanted to stay at Everton? No! He says in that interview that Everton didn't do enough to keep him - we feckin rejected two bids for him - why didn't he come out then and say that he didn't want to leave. He sat and he waited and he knew City would offer him a never-ending cash deal.

He says he issued the transfer request reluctantly - b*llocks. The fans in the pre-season home game against Malaga sang his name for 90mins, Moyes stated how highly Everton rated him and how much they wanted to keep him, then he hands in his request, the following weekend we get battered by Arsenal.

I'm glad Moyes made him work on his own, i wish he'd just admit it - he left for the cash, he's been [Poor language removed] for City anyway since. He deserves all the abuse he gets when he gets back to Goodison and then some more - one greedy [Poor language removed]

After reading that I havent changed my mind at all in that I view Lescott as someone who couldnt day no to earning mega bunts . The success is a valid excuse too so fair play as the way we are playing is proving him right ..for the time being . One thing is for sure though , he is going to get a hot reception should he play at Goodison .

I dont wish he was still here . My mate said the exact samething to me at Bolton after they scored the winner and I still hold firm that we will be just fine once we settle our injuried players back in . Our season is as good as over though for me I am just hoping for a good run in the UEFA .

Still think we miss him, even though i dont want to:

Moyesy says:

“We’re quite proud at Everton. We think we’ve built up a decent team at Everton and Joleon was part of that and we wanted him to stay.

“I felt that Joleon had been here three years and the group that we’d got together- we’d finished fifth and got to a cup final- could have warranted a bit longer."

The versatile Lescott swapped Merseyside for Manchester in the summer when he completed his £22 million move.

Everton boss Moyes rejected a transfer request from the England international, however, the saga continued for much of the summer which eventually resulted in the transfer being completed and Moyes replacing Lescott with Sylvan Distin.

“Joleon is in the main a decent lad, but in the end he didn’t act that way.”

That's why I posted it here rather than in the Everton forum.

that's what I thought straight away, 'why isin't this in the Everton forum' but I guess Lescott is not worthy and has been demoted to the Aleroom.

amid all the sniping and harsh words, Lescott did have some good performances, I wonder if the people on his back after the City transfer were the same ones singing his praises when he came good in the dark blue and was a fans favorite, how times can quickly change, see Owen, Liverpool to Manchester as a prime example.

I wasn't spitting venom in his direction when he left, ok, a mixture of relief that the mammoth transfer saga came to a conclusion and also a little sad to see him go, without all that pre-season nonsense taken out, he was a fine player, but yet again, money must intrude and the might of the green is more powerful than some players loyalties.

I think £22 M represents a great deal, I don't think he was worth even half that, or maybe thereabouts, others can argue until the cows come home but that's how I see it anyway.

got bored half way thru.

anyone who considers going to city should do 1.

Still love Moyes, still hate Lescott.
