Leon Osman

He was a decent homegrown player who plugged a hole when we were in need. He wasn't a world beater, but far better than a randomn foreigner. He blew hot and cold but was usually played out of position.
^^^this. Like most utility players became a bit of a jack of all trades and master of none, but did a job and iirc there were noises about Moyes wanting him at utd.

There were noises about Manchester United wanting Leon Osman? Are you sure?

He was a decent enough player for us. Wasn't his fault he wasn't replaced earlier. Scored some good goals and was a key part of a couple of very good Moyes's teams. He should never have started in the cup final, but that wasn't his fault either

Been a supporter since I was... Well most my adult life. Owned..... Oh god toomanytomention...
6 shirts.
I loved lil Osman, Thought he did a job personally. I'm not local...

So I don't get the grass thing... I don't read much so I won't be bothering to buy his book either.
He wasn't a Messi, Ronaldo or.... Cleverley but he always showed for the ball, Had skills.. and if left alone could score a goal too. He wasn't the most physically gifted and very often his shots were simply caught by the keepers..... 5 year old daughters...
But he always tried. So in my book it makes him at least worthy of a doff of a cap and a polite clap.
