Exactly. I've not read his book myself so am genuinely unaware of what he's being accused of here.

In a world where people feel the need to classify someone as either boss or utter guff, I think it's important to remember there's a middle ground.

Leon Osman is that middle ground. A decent footballer and a decent servant, certainly not a bad footballer but certainly not a great one either. A decent footballer who was prone to the occasional great moment and the odd awful moment too.

He had a couple of good seasons, by good I mean good for him. That's in over 10 seasons for us, had anyone been interested in him we would have sold him. But they weren't, so we didn't... And that makes me sad.

terrible ball for our first goal yesterday also, shame all our other midfield players are not as poor.

What an absolutely pathetic comment. This herd mentality thinking on a longstanding Everton player is bloody shameful.

Osman did a solid job for us for over a decade in a team that restored a bit of pride after the Walter/Walker years. He never kicked up a fuss and didn't milk it the way the likes of Cahill did. For that he has my respect until I know more.
