Osman has lived, breathed and bleed blue for the majority of his life. He has sacrificed more than any of us ever will for the club and he has been a consummate pro while doing so. Maybe he isn't Xavi but he is more than the lot of you haters deserve.

While they do get paid a lot of money, they only get paid what we are willing to give them. If you read autobiographies from players you will learn that they sacrifice being there for weddings and funerals of family and friends, the birthing of children, time with their family. Many have relationship trouble because they cannot devote the time to their job and their loved ones.

The argument that their sacrifices for the team both physically and mentally should be discounted because of what they get paid lacks logic. Players only get paid if we pay to watch them. Leon Osman has given his life to Everton FC, he IS Everton FC. While he is not a first team player anymore, he deserves all of our best wishes not to mention thanks.
