Think about it though - getting a transfer offer from Everton now, seeing that Osman is on 30-40k a week; any player is gonna try and milk us for more ffs!
How much has that feller waltzed off with in the course of his career at Everton? Let's say an even 10 years after he come back from his loan to Derby. (I'm almost frightened to attempt a calculation).

Say, evening it out across that decade, he must have been on what: £35,000 pw (conservatively)? That's about £18M+ he's had.

Imagine being a former Everton great scraping round for pr work full of arthritis and you look over at that lad trousering £18M?

Boom, shake, shake, shake the room, indeed.

hahahahahaha not even close, he's not even on 35k now.

It's an absolute farce that we keep giving these crap players new contracts because of sentimental feelings.

Jesus Christ, when a player isn't good then they're not good enough. Chelsea let Lampard go, United let Vidic and Ferdinand go, the RS probably would have let Carragher go had he not retired. All these clubs didn't let all this wishy-washy bollocks about how these players have been great servants get in the way of the fact that they needed jibbing off and replacements for them needed to be bought. When is the club going to grow up and stop giving these next to useless players a wage?

Osman is not, and arguably never has been, good enough for an ambitious Everton. Simple as that. Anyone who defends him only uses the "been a top servant" or even "England cap" because that's all they have. When he has his good game per season, his defenders are out in force. Where are they when he's absolute toilet for the other 30-odd games he plays in?

This just shows how far behind we still are from the title-challenging clubs in terms of mindset.

I don't normally fume, but this is a joke, for a club with aspirations of achieving a top 4 finish or to win a piece of silverware, this is not how you go about it.
I don't care what he's like in the changing rooms, all i know is he's not good enough on the pitch. Its amazing how he is robbing the club of a wage for another year, when we could be doing one of two things......
1. Bringing through the likes of Ledson
2. Bringing in a player in January (if that's Cleverley then so be it, he's better than Osman the jarg Turk.)
