It's such a key role though.

This all day long!

I truly thought we were past this with barkley's emergence. It's ok saying barkley's not in top form but it changes the whole flow of the game Osman starting in that role, making us slow and predictable. Benifit of doubt to RM that's he's just trying to give Barkley a little breather but 2 odd games to do it in IMO.

People will say Barkley didn't drastically change things when he got on: thing is, the pattern of the match was established by then and it's pretty difficult to get on top of a team that has something to fight for by doing what they were doing. We needed to have our better players on first minute onward in order to set the pattern of the game. It really surprises me Martinez believes Osman is worth a start. I'm beginning to think he might be a little bit reluctant to weild the axe against a popular player in the squad for fear of camaraderie suffering.

Enough is enough though. Osman has to sit out games and come on. He has to be our Hernandez - welded to the bench until a crisis.

Osman is ****e.
If Barkley is out of form or tired put Mirallas or Naismith in behind Lukaku. Osman must lick some major arse though. Moyes, now Roberto. KIN HELL.

I think it's a lot to do with Ossie being a part of the furniture and Martinez not wanting to come in and change too much, too soon. If he did that and we struggled, Martinez would be the first to be getting it in the neck. The fact we've had a relatively good start to the season is surely proof the manager has got it right so far, especially as there's no evidence we'd have won 5-0 yesterday with Ossie on the bench

this, I think he will start the same team and take an all mighty bumming, he's got a blind spot with osman right now, why that it I cant see because he has been consistantly dreadful

He's started 10 out of the 11 games we have played

I don't see him changing that

I can see Martinez starting him in the Derby

Of course he will. All bollocks about local lads etc, when it'll be local lad Barkley left out. To be honest if he's playing Osman I hope he takes McCarthy out and puts Barkley in. But he won't. Same boring team.

Absolutely gutted about it too.

I think he played yesterday to soften the blow he will feel at being dropped for the derby.

We need a bit more zip, and Barkley provides that.

I do think Osman provides a decent option from the bench, think he gets far more stick than he deserves

I'm hoping Osman starts on the bench for this with Barkley starting. Barkley will be going all out to impress against these, and Leon will be chomping at the bit to get off the bench and prove why he should be starting.
