Suprised no one has made a thread about him yet after his excellent performance against Hull.

Leon has taken a lot of stick lately and has been a scapegoat for our sloppy start.

As i have mentioned in posts before, he is not a winger, he is a centre midfielder, he finds it hard to take on players in a wide position, whereas in centre mid against Hull, he was composed, creative and hard-working. Granted it was only Hull and i do accept that Osman isn't world-class, but he is a very effective team member, if played in the right position.

He led really well as stand in skipper and he chipped in with a goal to. Well in Leon (y)

Always looks good when we play well (especially when we play against rubbish sides)
Always looks awful when we play poorly (or when we play decent sides)

I think he also deserves credit for being a loyal servent to the club.

Especially with Moyes playing him on the right so much recently. He must of been aware of his poor performances there but not once did we hear from him moaning and bitching about it in the press. (Unless i missed it).

Shame Osman actually recieves the criticism for him being on the right when the blame lies with Moyes.

Osman's a very useful centre midfielder and one of the better footballers we have in terms of natural ability. I still think he's a good option in the middle of our 4-5-1, especially at home.

It's a shame he gets wasted outwide but that's football, he gets on with it and never complains.

Defo Toccy, i do think he would find it a bit more difficult in a 4-4-2, in the centre but he would still do a job and is better in a 4-5-1. He is very useful in my opinion on the centre. Don't think he will get a run of games there though, with Tets soon to return especially

Hello, Osman is a good hard worker. He plays well, but on the inside. He should not link with Hibbert, it makes the right back look bad. But a hard worker with time to mature and mould to a player for the future.

I think it all comes down to Rodzilla, if he can pull the strings week in week out or most weeks then Osman won't be needed in the first team.

I think there will be times when we need Osman in there though and I hope Moyes considers it. Especially until Mikel Arteta's back.
