Know it isn’t a popular opinion but I always rated him as a player and on the limited times I’ve seen/heard him as color commentator thought he was better than most.

People I know that have met him said he came across a lovely fella also.

He was played out of position for years by Moyes to be fair. We were one right winger from being a really decent team at one point
