Arteta2391

Player Valuation: £30m
I may get a lot of heat for this, but I think he will prove out to be Moyes best signing in 1-3 years.

have we signed Moutinho yet? by any chance

He's a great signing, but can't be and probably won't be considered Moyes' best...

For starters, he cost almost as much as Jagielka and Lescott combined!... But it's still Cahill for me.

Cahill is boss no doubt, but it all goes back to that thing; many people don't rate defenders. Market wise also..(Ferdinand is an exception)

My first thought about Moyes best signing was Yobo. When he came he gave us stability in the defence and enabled us to progress and thereby get the players we have now.

But it's either Cahill, Arteta or Jags

Leighton was and is a great signing, i was always fairly confident he would make the grade even when some fans had an itchy trigger finger. Definitely one of the top five left backs in the leauge, if not top 3. His stats since he came into the team are awsome, he gives us a compleatlely different dimension in the team.

Cahill/Arteta though in terms of longevity, price, impact and consistencey have to the best Moyes signings, with Yobo and Lescott coming up on the rear.

What No Jagielka????

You god dam horror. :P:P:P

Best signing is Howard. He is the only consistent one that does not get injured and we could not do without him. All the other signings we have shown we can play without when forced into it by injury. I think Cahill and Arteta are fantastic, Lescott, Yobo and Jags have stepped up to the mark better than I was expecting, Always knew Baines would do well, Pienaar is excellent when he shines, Neville is turning into one of the best skippers we have ever had, Yak is the Yak, Saha will stay fit and shine, but,

Howard is the unsung stalwart of the revitalised Everton. I think the defence and the basis of our success would collapse without him in the sticks.

Just thought I would chuck in my tuppence.

But keeping on topic, I would not want to change baines at all. Looking forward to next season as I believe he will up his game once more.

I had my doubts to be honest, Moyes just didn't seem to fancy him and Leighton Baines was getting frustrated himself, he said in one of the early Evertonian's that he'd weigh his options up in January.

He's lucky really, if Yobo hadn't have picked up that injury against Chelsea Leighton Baines probably wouldn't be at the club, I honestly believe that.

He took his chance and has shown what a quality he is both going forward (as we all know) and more importantly defensively. If there's one thing I wasn't sure about it was his defensive qualities, he's proved me wrong though.

Good player is Baines, very good player.

I agree a little with what Gaz said, good steady keepers are hard to find and he messes up from time to time, but overall hes a very good keeper is Howard.

But Cahill £1.5m and Arteta £2.5m. I mean come on???????????

Question was "best signing".. didn't say anything about including the prize in the calculation.. "best value for money" then Cahill would be top.b)

No mention of Martyn for best signing? Come on lids

He really wasnt that good, it was simply that we had clowns like Gerrard and Wright before we signed him. Anybody would look good.

I dont get this Martyn love in myself, he played very well for us, but he only came at the end of his career and turned us down when he was in his prime.
