The only question with Valente is not to pick up any knocks. If he stays healthy he is a good performer and he has smart ideas with the ball. Him and Pienaar have played well together.

Agreed. They looked very good against Sunderland (heck, they all did.)

This is why Valente is still an important member of the squad. We knew Baines would come in as the starter but having Valente gives us much needed depth at the position as we would all rather have Lescott in the center.

Hope he stays healthy and gives Baines time to recuperate.

The curse of the left back strikes again, Pistone, Valente and now Baines, what is it about that position, no one has any luck with injuries.
Nuno is fit again and in the squad, so fingers crossed he won't pick up anymore knocks.
Him and Pienaar combine well enough down the left and Nuno has played well over the last few weeks.
Baines is a great little player and we'll miss him over the next 6 weeks.
Funny how many of us mention Pienaar's size as a bit of a downer but Baines is the size of a Jelly Baby and he still does the business!

I love jelly babies. No wonder I'm a fan. I knew somebody had to point me in right direction. Don't know how to answer the last sentence though. Oh your meaning stature. Well Ossie, Bainsey and Pienaar do lack in that department but what they lack in size they make up in effort.
