But that's a different argument, you're talking about Lescott putting in better performances than Baines at LB this season for Baines to get dropped - which, IMO, he hasnt - and that Yobo can do a better job at CB than Lescott. That's how it should be judged for Yobo to come in at the moment.
So with one goal 1 in 6 games past us, and Baines with 2-3 assists within thoughs games and the team working there are no reason to drop Baines for Lescott.
To me it will effect the defence. Lescott wants to be a CB not a LB, and Baines wants to cement his position after 1 season and a half of being on the bench. So moving Lescott to LB will just say to the player "Yobo is a better CB than you" and to Baines that will mean "Lescott is a better LB than you" which wont make much sense to either player when they've only let one goal in over 9hours of football.
Your getting into semantics mate, for me the best 4 is
Hibbo (Or neville if you really want to argue) Jag Yobo Lescott. The sooner we get back to that 4 the better. As i said you wouldnt leave Yak out if fit just because Cahill has done well recently would you, i fail to see the difference
