I was just looking at our results from the last few years for the opening match. Last 10 seasons = 3 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses. Not great, but gotta say I thought we had a worse record than that. Last 3 seasons were the losses so maybe that's why my memory is playing tricks.

Given that we've changed all the players, the manager, the board, the executives, the owners and even the ground in that time, none of it should be relevant. Don't know why I'm posting it in that case but here it is anyway.

Both Farke and Leeds were very open the last time they were both in the PL...hopefully that remains the same as we know we need more than just one chance to nab a goal. When Moyes came in he helped us combat the nerves that teams could impose on us and generated a level of calmness in the squad. We need to try and feed off that tomorrow. Don't let them use the crowd to gee them up and be composed.

I have a new game. I try to get through a whole page without someone moaning about Keane. Listen, he’s not great - and that’ why he is a backup player and not a nailed on starter. He does it without moaning and, given that there are three starters ahead of him, I think he is a good professional and he did a good job for us at the end of last season. Give the guy a break!

Don't care who the team is. Don't care who we've signed. I am psyched up for this match and for this season in the new stadium. Can't wait until my number comes up with the ballot. COYB. UTFT.

(And I've been watching us for 50+ years, any youngsters who want to spray their internet manure.)

NB. I might have had an extremely strong Margarita before posting.

So a win by 2 goals or more puts above the RS (by alphabetical order at least) and in the Champions League places! Come on!

Having said that a loss by 3 goals or more and we're in the relegation zone. 🥺

Coming away with a point isn't too bad. Probably one of the worst 1st games we could have had outside the top4
They are, objectively, one of the worst sides in the league.

I accept that we have a poor record there and they will be enthusiastic and all, but if we are shuddering at visiting mighty Championship dominators Leeds, we're in for a very long season.

We need to be going there and trying to win a very winnable fixture. A draw would not be the end of the world. A defeat will be a failure.
