Player Valuation: £60m
I genuinely think he is the worst referee there is at the moment. He really doesn't seem to have a clue, gives frees when there are none and then lets blatant fouls go unpunished.
He wasn't the reason we lost the game, but he is a really bad referee.

When David Moyes says we have a small squad, last night shows why he says that.We have probably about fifteen players that have us competing with the best but then the quality falls away very quickly.
Mucha is a poor goalkeeper,he is like a frightened rabbit caught in the headlights of a car,Gueye is probably a division one player or maybe championship but certainly not premiership.
It was Juniors debut on a horrible night against a team that was fired up to play against us and the more experienced players didn't really give him much support so I think judgement on him is reserved for other days.
I thought Heitings was just awful and last night clearly shows why Jagielka will always be preferred to him.Fellaini didn't look interested for about seventy five minutes until he wook up and took the game by the scruff of the neck.Mirallas was poor,I don't think he was prepared for a wet night in Yorkshire against Leeds, but at least he tried and I thought Oviedo was good and showed enough to suggest that in the future he will be a big asset for us.

Anichebe was very good, led from the front and played like a young man who is starting to believe in himself and starting to enjoy himself.

Overall a night best forgotten.

Disclaimer: we lost because of our own doings.

However I'm with you on this, the guy is a heaving cockwad. He's one of the consistently worse refs I've seen in my life. Even the one time he sorted us right out (the penalty in extra time against Blackburn if I'm right) it was a poor call and I'd have been fuming if that was against us.

Don't know how you can be like that at your job and get away with it.

I can't recall any other matches he's reffed recently....but all refs, like players will have an off day and last night was about as off as it could be, as well as the stuff he missed for us, we were lucky as hell me missed JH stepping on that horrible rat Diouf.

Refs like a comedian,then again his name sounds comedic"Lee Mason,live and unleashed"tour 2012!!

I'm not sticking up for him but being a referee is bloody hard. To get every decision correct is near on impossible. I'd love to see some of you armchair refs actually have a go it's not as easy as it looks and you have to make split second decisions without the aid of slow motion TV replays showing you 10 times. And yes i'm a class 3 referee thankyou.

There are so many **** referees in this league it's unbelievable. Lee Mason, Howard Webb, Phil Dowd, Mark Halsey and I'm just getting started.

Being a footballer is also bloody hard. And so is being a manager. And, to blow my own trumpet, so is being an electrician.

He's getting paid to do a job and it's not unreasonable to expect him to be better at it than someone with no training who isn't paid to do that job. It's also not unreasonable to notice when the lights he's wired don't work, metaphorically speaking.

Pretty much this.

These guys are paid professionals not some armchair refs. They are also paid quite a bit of money to ref a game for 90minutes. If they can't do the job properly perhaps they should look at another career.

Football is not an exact science mate people are not infallible they make mistakes as do most people in the jobs they do. As i said he hasn't got slow motion replays he has to make a decision there and then with fans shouting and players in his face, he also takes advice from a linesman and guess what sometimes they get it wrong too. These mistakes are what give you something to whinge about down the pub with your mates don't they.
