Leaving the game early

0-4 is different to 0-1. Plus you could tell the players and the manager where trying to change the tactics and the performance was good.
0-4 at half-time isn't much different from 0-1 at 85 mins. But that's beside the point.

You don't know how many were leaving for travel reasons vs protest though, 10pm on a Tuesday, I would imagine the majority just want to get home.

If they where leaving for travel reasons or school etc then fair enough. I suppose for some that will have been the case.

What about people who get to their seats late for kick off or go down early for half time, or come back late for half time, or go to the toilet whilst the match is on, or text whilst they should be watchng the game.
Alot of people may have left early because they had kids and its the difference between getting them home before 10pm of after 11.

Went to an NBA game in Boston many years ago, and I was shocked to see people getting to their seats as the first period was ending. My mate told me it was pretty common for people to rock up well into the game like it doesn't matter, particularly as its such a high-scoring game that the first 2 periods are largely irrelevant.

Its the returning from half time that does my head in, my seat is three from the end and you can be up and down for the first 10 minutes of the second half, then people stand up infront to let people past.

It was a monday night and school is back in. Getting the little uns home to bed to keep 'her indoors' happy is no master crime. If there were nearby decent train infrastructure or a bus service capable of taking money from needy travellers then some of the others I couldn't forgive, but a wet monday night in early January...

....er....it was Tuesday.....:p

I'm just sayin' :pint2:

Sunday 4pm kick offs are a nightmare ! The M6 south just crawls at about 50mph, dreadful !

No different from any other time of the day then. Always amazes me how chocka the M6 is around Cheshire at 3pm on a Friday. Does no-one do a full days work on Friday in the North?

I always found that of a Friday.

The rush hour starts earlier.

So many companies quit early on Friday that factories and offices are emptying at various times from 1 p.m. onwards and this is reflected in the traffic.

Maybe when companies in the North complete a full working week and fully contribute their bit to the GDP, they can come back and complain about public expenditure in the NW...

:p

To be fair, this is a nationwide phenomenon.

When I lived in that London we always quit early on Friday ;)

They still work the requisite 40 or 39 hours or whatever, they just extend the day Monday through Thursday do Friday was early day.

I think it depends on the industry. The City doesn't stand for that sort of attitude. 'Face Time' and all that silliness. Never get out any earlier on a Friday.

Have you tried getting away from Goodison after the whistle if you've parked nearby, or if you need to flag a taxi? It's bedlam.

I've left plenty of time before the final whistle whether we've been winning or losing, so not going to call anyone who did "bells" for it as it's making an unfair assumption as to why they left.

Years ago when I went to GP, the crowds were bigger than today but I was fortunate, my Uncle lives off Luxmore Road so I could park there, saved a space for me.;)
