....he's the Irish horse racing magnate. There was talk about an Irish horse racing owner being involved in the deal and I said it could only be one of three; J PMcManus, John Magnier (who has an interest in Man Utd) or Michael O'Leary (owner of Ryanair).

As above.
Wasn't there something shady with them and Fergie going on that the BBC was prying into and that's why he banned them from access?

@njligernj Your negativity is quite worrying!!

I'm sorry mate I'm usually relatively positive ... I have a bet on us winning the league for crying out loud (bye-bye money) and a bet on Lukaku as top scorer (someone kneecap Vardy for me please).

Anyway. The people who say we know nothing yet are right.

I just can't ignore the backgrounds of people and anyone with venture capital etc. is going to get me worried. But that's me. I work in tech where those people prey on super talented people who don't understand enough of the business side to protect their own interests. They are in some ways necessary of course but in many ways just "the enemy" and I am going to be suspicious of them.

Judging from the recording we got of BK he is EXACTLY the kind of person they prey on and judging from what we know about EFC it's EXACTLY the kind of business they prey on.

Again ... that all means nothing about these guys specifically ... I'm just saying keep your eyes open and be alert. Report suspicious packages. These guys *might* be up to no good and assuming they are saviours is no more logical than assuming they are here just for money.

Do you honestly believe that you're thinking of questions that haven't/won't be asked by lawyers representing the club?

Do you think Bill, for all his supposed professional flaws, won't be asking for guarantees as to the long term future of the club?

There are many lawyers I wouldn't trust to address an envelope. Are we just to assume he hired great lawyers? Aside from two manager hires we don't even have a consensus on what else has he done to make any of us confident? His choice of CEO?!?!?

Basically all rich people will have someone somewhere disgruntled with them.

There's very few/none billionaires or near-billionaires that are thought of as saints by anyone who knows them.

FYP. I get what you are saying but that's precisely the reason people are worried.

If someone buys a club as a retirement plaything (or has so much money that football club money doesn't really matter) then it's less worrying.

If the money they could make from Everton by screwing all of us didn't matter to them then I wouldn't worry. They could bend us over a barrel and get 20% of this guys net worth very easily. So yeah I'm worried. The numbers these guys can take out of our club are very meaningful to them.

We need to stop acting like we are poor old Everton. There is a crap-load of money to be made here for the morally flexible. And yeah if they are carpetbaggers parts of my rage will be that I didn't just set the guys always trying to buy us onto EFC and take a finder's fee. ;) (JK ... partially.)

Oh God. Can you imagine how horrific the Ryanairisation of Everton would be? That's the stuff of nightmares.
