Last Film You Watched

My favourite movie ever made. So good that I treat myself to it every Halloween. Perfection.

It`s the rarity too, in that the film is better than to book it came from.

I saw the film first and bought the book on strength of the film, the book is pretty rubbish, not well written and lacks all the creepiness of the film.

Also feel Jaws was better on the screen than the book as well. Think Spielberg made good choices ignoring/not focusing on some aspects of the book and the ending was better.

Watched it on the pictures when I was 15, terrified and sickened me at the same time. It's one of those films I still don't like watching on my own, great film though.
Ever watched Exorcist 3 really good and very scary in parts, George C. Scott and Brad Dourif are brilliant in it, worth a watch, the true sequel to the first and best.
Exorcist 3 is a very underrated gem. I love it!

so bad it makes nic coppola look like Brando.

my poor eyes, and my even worse off brain. I deserve a kicking for this.

There is a rare treat on tv this evening.

10pm BBC four.

Academy award winner for 1966, 'The war game',
"Controversial drama that depicts the consequences of a nuclear attack on Britain. The terrible aftermath of a nuclear bomb in Kent is portrayed in the style of a news programme. Written and directed by Peter Watkins, The War Game won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 1966, even though the BBC decided not to show it when it was made as 'the effect of the film has been judged by the BBC to be too horrifying for the medium of broadcasting'. The film was finally televised on 31 July 1985."

There's a preview on to introduce it. 10 minute preview, 45 minute doc, then another gem from another time, a preview of 'threads' by it's writer and director followed by the full film.

Only watched Threads fairly recently, but had been oblivious to 'The war game'. The hysteria around which is giving me the feel of the knee jerk conservative activistism of whitehouse and her shrill bunch re 'Cathy come home'. (also 1966).

For the other element of fandom on this fine forum, 'the rock' is on itv4 at 9pm.
