Last day escape/urban myth?

Our escape against relegation versus Wimbledon has been mentioned today, so this topic was lost within a thread, but thoughts would be interesting!

This is what I have been told, by a guy who played for Wimbledon. (but not that day).

Apparently, the Wimbledon players, who were playing a nothing game for them, placed bets that one of their CH, would score that game. He didnt score often, so the odds were probably very good. As a result, when they went 2-0 up, he was, *ahem*, "encouraged" to stay upfield, or linger in midfield, allowing us space, which may, or may not, have helped us to score the 3..........Allegedly.

Probably a wind up, but a good tale I thought.

It didn't happen, we beat them fair and square. I should know, I was listening to it on the World Service in a backpackers in Sydney and didn't detect any foul play.

Never mind Hans Segers flop for Stuarts goal, the biggest thing that went our way that day was limpars dive to win us the pen before half time. I think if we had went in 2 down at the break no amount of seger-isms could have saved us.

I was out, and couldn't hear the match anywhere. Didn't know anything until the end of the game. Then went mental
