Key is the 8 home games. Arsenal will be tough, the other 7 are all very "winnable" but none will be easy. If we can get back into a winning habit at Goodison, and I see no reason why not, we should start to move up the table. Away from home we've only lost once this season, which is crazy, I guarantee there will be more away defeats, but you will notice that we've yet to visit Sunderland and Villa, so there's more points to be had there too. I agree with Davek, I think top 8 is realistic, top 6 may be just beyond us.

I wouldn't look any further than 4 points out of Newcastle and Swansea. Given our form I'd count that as a good return.

What can we get points-wise?

My guess is we'll get 30 or a couple of points either side of that.

If we do we're heading for about 8th, historically speaking.

Does that sound about right given the fixtures left?

On Boxing Day you were calling 60+Pts... ( deffo, nailed on and I'm sticking with it ) no plus or minus ( which for the sake of argument I took as 63 ) you're now revising it down...well it could be 56 or 7

*hold lapels in best rumpole fashion...I put it to the court m'lud, that my learned friend is now backtracking summat wicked...and having realised, somewhat belatedly that his client hasn't a scooby m'lud.

explains 'scooby' to thick judge.

My learned friend is now scraping the barrel for that old scape goat...It's not his clients fault, It's the Goalies, Reffs, linesman, Injuries, john terry...
anybody except his client and his cast in tablets of stone, effin phenomenal, effin philosophy.

*points accusingly...and I further put it, that his client is guilty m'lud, guilty of learning NO lessons, guilty of making no real changes to address the goals flowing in our net...nor the goalkeeping situation, guilty of totally refusing to contemplate 'seeing the game out', plus all the other public statements that allude to basically...I'm right, no change.

* goes into Churchillian mode, one hand on lapel.
He stands conndemed,
by his own words,
He is guilty,
of nothing less,
than the reckless endangerment,
of the whole future,
of Everton F.C.

legal disclaimer; that last bit may not be strictly true and is there for dramatic effect and to wind up davek

short, less dramatic version ; davek just blinked...

he has seen (turns down chance to do Churchill again ) however briefly, that the man, with the philosophical tablets of stone, has in fact, feet of clay.

he did, he just blinked...It may not be the beginning of the end, but it is the end of the beginning ( quotes for everything our winnie )

edit; bet still stands
