Lars Jacobsen wants to remain at Everton next season.

Jacobsen's one-year deal ends this summer and the Dane's agent has indicated that he has received interest from other Clubs.

But Karsten Aabrink explained that the right-back's preference is to remain with the Blues.

"There is interest from other clubs, but Lars' first option would be to stay at Everton," he said.

"He feels he has returned to the level he was at before the injury and he is pleased with how David Moyes has treated him.

"I think the situation is positive."

Jacobsen had dreadful luck when a serious shoulder injury struck soon after he arrived from FC Nurnberg last season. Indeed, he was ruled out for several months before he had even played for the Toffees.

But he's battled back and performed a solid role in the latter part of the season.

He's now in line to feature in Everton's squad for the FA Cup final at Wembley.
Aabrink continued: "We have close contact with Everton and we probably have a meeting around the FA Cup final and take it from there."

There's been debate on here wanting him to stay or leave. I personally feel he'd be a great addition to the squad, a solid experienced right back who seems comfortable the times I've seen him play. Offers us more options and would push Hibbert all the way leaving Neville to concentrate at being the DM.

And he's effing free. Good squad depth with the Europa League coming up too.

Get him signed up Moyesy lid.

Or it could be agent talk trying to drum up a deal for other clubs to get hold of him with better offers.

He's free and has looked pretty solid at the back too. I'm just not sure wether he would play infront of Hibbert - or indeed Neville next season - as there may not be room in the midfield.

I haven't seen anything of Jacobsen this season so it's hard to judge, but if in his current situation of course he'd love to stay. Question is, is he good enough for us long term?

Is he a better fullback than Hibbert, or at least as good? If he's not as then it simply doesn't make sense, as right-back is one area in which we need strengthening anyway imo.

IF we get another midfielder, the center of the park could become seriously congested, and maybe Pip would have to play RB next season, and we really wouldn't need Pip/Hibbo/Lars all trying to fill the same spot when none are obviously better than the other.

Tough call for Moyes. We just haven't seen enough of him. Perhaps we should offer him another 1 year contract.

I'd rather we signed him up, he gives us another option and we won't have to pay any money to keep him, just pay him a half decent wage.

He's looked solid and composed, nothing special but certainly useful. It'd be better than wasting money on another fullback when we have other areas that need strengthening.

It'll be interesting though, Moyes has recently signed Seamus Coleman, another right back who at 20/21 is a bit too old for the reserves. Maybe he's the man and Lars won't get a new deal.

The games he's played he's looked very solid, comfortable on the ball, and willing to get stuck in. He's not a hoofer, likes to pass and find a player.

He seems quicker than Hibbo to me, but he's never really gone forward enough in the games he's played with Ossie (as Osman tends never to track back and is sucked into the middle) to judge his attacking ability.

He's more experienced than Hibbo, has played in Europe and on international level (Demarks No1 RB). He'd be another teams 1st choice RB, which is why he's more likely to leave so he can get first team football.

I think Lars, Hibbo and Neville seem to be equal in overall terms of the position. But they all have qualities better than the other. But I feel, gut instinct, that Lars has a better balance than Hibbo in terms of defending and getting forward. Would be good competition.

We also have to take into account, he's free and we're expected to play 60+ games next year.

It would be foolish to let Jacobsen get away - this is the mentality that Moyes is instilling in his players - there are other and more than likely more lucrative options but players are wanting to stay because Moyes treats them well and they can tell Everton is on the rise.

He's been more than adequate and is an experienced international. I haven't been troubled a bit when he's been on the pitch. I tend to like defenders that go somewhat quietly about their business - proficient, not flabbergastingly good but they do their job well.

I think it would be a good option to retain him. Can't remember is he on loan and we would have to cough up a transfer fee?

He's actually our player. We got him on a free transfer.

He isn't good enough to start regularly - if he can't accept that, offload him.

We have Seamus Coleman.

But is Coleman ready and I thought actually he was a LB. For me we need a RB to replace Hibbo. IMO he and Osman are arguably holding us back and need shunting.

Whilst he's still quite young he's too old to be playing reserve football in my opinion, he's nearly 21 I think. And he's definitely a right back.

Hibbert isn't our first choice right back, he's just playing there because of injuries. If the likes of Yakubu and Arteta where fit Neville would probably be playing right back.
