Having just heard that after 5years of living in this country Tevez still cannot speak English. I find that a tad disrespectful and think that if you are going to go and live in a foreign country and expatriate yourself then i think the least you can do is learn the indigenous language.

I always thought it was just us Brits that were rude and didn't bother because we expect everyone to speak the mother tongue.

However i would make an exeption if lcab was the english teacher haha no-one can learn scouse in 5 haha. (y)

And when you're on 150K a week or whatever it is, and have more free time than those in most professions, then there is no excuse.

I can't imagine living in another country and not understanding 99.9% of the people. You'd think he'd want to learn a little?

Robert Pires couldn't speak English either if I remember correctly

You'd think clubs would do more to help players learn the language. Not sure about Pires but like you said alio i'd hate to live somewhere and not be able to understand the majority of people. Tevez has just stated manchester is boring, maybe if he could speak english it would be more entertaining.

Wouldn't say I find it disrespectful, just pretty sad on his part. He must be a right boring [Poor language removed].

I spend just a few weeks in another country and want to learn as much of their language as I can. Makes for a much better experience. Maybe he wouldn't be whining on about going home every few minutes if he tried.

At the end of the day, it's only gonna help you more isn't it?

Bily took English lessons as soon as he got here, babe.

Remember Gazza,s atempt at Italian and Beckham at Spanish,,,funny that was!!
At least Steve McClaren went to Holland and was able to speak like a local in no time:lol::lol::lol:

You forgot that he might just be stupid

Indeed, he does look the sort of person for whom fire, the wheel* and the written word are miracles of scientific progress.

* ironically enough something which hadnt been discovered by the pre-conquest societies in the Americas
