Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

Considering Sunderland are spending a reported £17 million+ on some midfielder and are expected to bring in another 2-3 after that suggests unless their owner has suddenly given Moyes big cash then perhaps it's the Kone money? Although I think Koeman seems happy with Jags, Williams, Mori and Holgate hence why we want Martina for RB cover which would have gone to Holgate had we brought a 5th CB in you would imagine.

I can't see us signing him.
If true & they're spending before we buy, then I'd drop it...just for the larfs!

Assuming Jags has another 2 seasons left (?), is Kone coming for back up? Or 3 at the back? Love Funes Mori, but he's obvz 4th in quality behind Jags, Williams and Kone, but then I thought when Jags retires we should be lining up Holgate & Galloway as replacements. Plus Pennington. What do I know
That's a massively optimistic assessment. The moment his pace goes, he's done. You say RFM is obviously 4th choice behind Jags Williams and Kone, but Jags is the worst in the air out of all four of those by a country mile... is he so much better at other aspects of defending that we can overlook that, and the fact that he's 34? Williams is the better organiser and leader, and is younger...

If Kone comes in I would expect to see Jags going. He's just got back into the England squad so this is our last chance to get any money for him. Sadly there is no room for sentiment in football.

I think the Kone deal largely depended on Jagielka going the other way.
I think RK may have had doubts about Jagielka. I think he sees now that he is the best defender we have and so signing another centrehalf is not so important.

You expect to see him leave today!?

Absolutely no chance of that happening in my opinión. Koeman has stated he wants 4 centre backs, we wont be letting any leave today, whether we do add one is another matter.

But jags has started the season in top form and deserves to be first choice defender until his form dips in my opinion

he wouldn't have started him over mori if he had doubts

What's the sell on bonus for us on Naismith?

That isn't quite what I said, is it pal.

It's pure conjecture, but I do wonder if what's holding the Kone transfer up is the fact that Moyes couldn't possibly replace him in the short time left in the window... in that circumstance, I would offer Jags plus roughly £10m to £12m.

I'm not saying we are actively trying to sell Jags, I'm saying I can envision a scenario in which we would let him go in order to secure Kone.

The founder of Liverpool FC was a Grand Master in the Orange Lodge. When he kicked us out of Anfield he started a vile sectarian campaign against Catholics, particularly those or Irish and Colombian descent. This, in turn, is why were are known as the Catholic Beak Club who hate Kopite Protestant South Africans

I knew it was like that a bit like "Glasgow".
