Transfer Rumour Lamine Kone

Just Moyles covering his back when the chairman sells him, he then says he didnt want to but it went ahead anyways

Moyes thrives in a position where people believe him to have little to spend. He will be looking for a loan to cover CB and building up his own pot of cash to fund purchases in seasons to come. As I said before, this has deadline day written all over it.

Personally, i reckon this deal will happen. too much has happened up there to convince me he could stay, all the markings of a move here.

And moyes probably does want to sell, so he has more money to spend. He is probably been identifying and sorting out deals on his side to bring in once the deal is rubber stamped.

But can see it going to deadline day in all honesty.

Tbh I can see any of our deals still to be done going to deadline day.

But it makes not one bit of difference now.

I said all along the squad is more than good enough to get through the opening weeks of the season - and it is.

Stoke will be tough on Saturday.

Even if we signed Kone, Hart, etc today, they would not play any part against Stoke.
We are better off playing the game of who blinks first.
Kone will certainly move somewhere before September, and the likelihood is to here.
Moyes is just trying to play the transfer game, only we have 1st hand knowledge of how he does things so can see right through it :)

Better playing them now rather than in 3 months time.

we are a machine still warming up, they aren't much different so are everton in the last decade, stale lol I'd have us beating them though, simply because we are starting to pick some momentum up now.

IMO, there is a lot more to these transfers than meets the eye. For sure its in our interest to have some media coverage on deadline day. For Moyes, he's been here before.... we're all still asking where the Arteta money went. Let's check in on the Sunderland forums in 3 months time, see if they are asking where the Kone money has gone.

Exactly mate.

Look, I know I'm positive on here and that's because I'm firmly sure that the club is heading in the right direction.

However, I would have liked a bit more of our business done but really I always half-suspected stuff would go to the wire.

It's just how it is - for a lot of clubs not just us.

People keep saying about how others 'around us' have strengthened, but let's just look at who we're realistically going to be competing with this year considering our aim is top six.

Liverpool - added a load of attacking players yet still can't defend. Oh, and their £150mil attacking line managed 4 against an Arsenal side with a 20-year-old and 21-year-old at the back who have just over 20 PL apps between them.

Chelsea - Conte is a superb manager but they've found it hard to attract big names and that team still needs a massive re-build. They've scraped past an out-of-form West Ham and just beat Watford, following it up with a cagey win over Bristol Rovers. Loads of work for them to do, and they have only made two additions. Kante yes is brilliant, but Batshuayi is young and unproven and will be liable to the inconsistencies that come with that.

Stoke - their one addition is Joe Allen.

Southampton - the lad from Bayern looks good, but again they've sold their best players and have a new manager in.

West Ham - loads of injuries to key players. Look half the team they did last year when Payet isn't playing.

Leicester - we'll see. Glad they've kept hold of their better players, bar Kante, but they'll find it a lot more difficult this year.

Spurs - again, see how they cope with CL. They've made two additions so far, mainly to help them with rotation.
