I was on the Everton section of this forum before and I noticed a picture of Nirvana which reminded me of Kurt Cobain. So I was wondering what do people think really happened on the night of his death? Was it suicide or was he killed (n)

This is something I could write for hours about.

Simply put, he pulled the trigger, but was 'killed' by a user of a wife and a spiralling discontent with the industry he was in.

And he was not overrated. The mainstream never got to see a fraction of his genius. But I won't go in to it too much, because I'm such a fan that I could get a bit too riled with conflicting opinions :P

Fair call yours. (y)

It was just my opinion on the 'overrated' bit, and I stand by my point and can possibly prove it, but everyone has a choice and an opinion, right? :)

Of course. The problem is when one opinion is far more educated than the other. There's not much I know about in this world, but Kurt Cobain would be my specialist subject on Mastermind.

I meant his music, not his personality or whatever... :) And by 'his music' I do mean the music, not the texts that he writes. I mean yeah, using the same chords over and over and over and over and over again, but just mixing them up a little is fun, but... no wait, it isn't. :)

Not attacking you or your admiration for him, just sayin'. :)

Oh dear. You could not be more wrong...

But this is what I was afraid of. I'm backing out of the thread now.

As I said, not attacking you or anything, just saying my opinion. And I could be wrong, yes, but It's just like that on about every song that I've checked, and I'm not very fond of Nirvana stuff.
So, please, I really would like to know where I was *so* wrong... :)

I don;t buy the conspiracy theories on this one. I love Nirvana and Cobain was a true genius. He was a troubled guy since childhood and drug use/health problems/media etc drove him over the edge. RIP Kurt and thank you for your legacy,

Smells Like Teen Spirit is one of the best songs of all time. I wasn't a big admirer of a lot of their stuff, but they had melody that underscores the crashing chords. I think Cobain was a Lennon & McCartney fan.

Pretty much this mate. He originally took weed because of a chronic -- and undiagnosed -- stomach pain he'd suffered with for years. Eventually he became too familar with weed and essentially immune to the doping affect it would have, and moved on to heroin. It's no excuse, but it was an unfortunate cyclical situation.

Smells like teen spirit was one of Nirvana's lesser songs tbh. It was just that it captured the essence of the era. Their later stuff was more rewarding, and their earlier stuff more raucous.

That night he got on his crack pipe, got twizzled...

Then pulled out a gun an blew his head off.....

Another waste of a genius. But just another crack head dead.....
