dumb hey.

since the 2007/08 season kone has played 120 games scoring 26 goals.

with a MASSIVE 11 for wigan in one season where i thought he was crap for most of the season apart from the odd game. loads of better players in that wigan side than kone. oh and rickie lambert has scored the same amount of goals since 2009 as kone has his WHOLE career. yet we paid a reported £6m+ for kone.

but you are right since joining everton he became a super star 20/25 goals a season striker.

ffs.

Dunno why you're cherry picking stats to make one of our own players look worse than he is compared to a Liverpool player. Lambert has only been playing in the top division since 2012.

Kone had a stinker at Sevilla but he was hurt big time by injury and he was a sub the majority of the time there. Every other club he's been at he has scored 1 goal in every 3 games or better, about what you'd expect for £6m. In comparison Lambert has scored 28 goals in 75 games since being in the top flight, so about 1 in 3 also.

The thing thats keeping me reasonably positive about him is the fact that he'll have well better players around him than he did at Wigan. He did make a number of chances on goal in each of the games he played before getting injured - literally the only thing missing from his game was actually bagging one of them.

I reckon he'll be decent next season though. Solid pre-season under his belt, match fitness returned, and a subsequent run of games in Europe/domestic cups will do him good. He just needs that first goal to break his duck with us.

Plus, Roberto rates him, therefore I'll give him a solid crack of the whip first.

Our fans love writing off players if they don't come in and instantly perform, it's weird really.

ok since he was hurt big time by injury he has never recovered. and has been crap since.

and ok lambert has scored more that him every season they have played in the top flight in england. lambert £4m kone £6m+

i wish and hope he comes good but i just dont think he will.

BETTER?

No mate i'm still outraged

I'm impressed with his attitude for staying at FF to train for the upcoming season. Maybe he thought sitting on his arse and taking 30 grand a week wasn't good karma for the upcoming Ramadam

Hopefully he scores 15+ goals and I feel less crap about how much he has cost. Please, Kone. Please.

11 (9 in the league) great return that.

adam le fondre got 14 (12 in the league) for reading. and hes just joined cardiff.
11 in the league, 13 overall mate. It's a decent return, nothing more, nothing less. He'll be decent backup. I'll be concerned if he's our number 1 striker next season though.

....I think he might have made the difference in us finishing top4 last season. Lukaku had no real back-up, nobody to come in when he was injured or come on when he was struggling. I don't think any top side had such limited cover in that key position. I get the impression that he'll be polar, either outstanding or awful, but just the type that could make a difference when we most needed. I'll be happy with him as a back-up striker next season, it'll certainly give us more ammunition than last.
