Kone

Really feel sorry for him, his debut season couldn't have gone any worse. When he comes back people better give him a fair chance and not treat him a like a pariah. He's coming back off a terrible injury, one that nearly ended his career according to Martinez.

He's 30 but he probably still has a fair few goals in him still once he gets fully fit and gets a few games, I honestly think he'll be used predominately in Europe with Traore (assuming we get him back). Looking forward to seeing him again, can see how eager he is to prove his worth.

There's an interview with him on the official site. At least he acknowledges himself as being a pile of sh!t and that he will have to work real hard in order to prove his worth. I have my doubts, but I won't deprive him of another chance. He needs a few games under his belt and then he might end up having a shot on goal. I'll still kill myself though if we don't get a decent striker this summer.

Agreed that he hasn't exactly lit up the world since arriving in England (Wigan included) but I'm willing to give him a chance as he'll have better service than he ever did at Wigan, plus will have had a proper pre-season. However, if he's still crap by January, sell him.

People are dumb as [Poor language removed] regarding Kone, the whole team weren't up to it and was still in transition when he was playing, we didn't start playing well until a month after he was injured. If he was fit during that time he would've scored a fair few goals for us.

What I seen of him he wouldn't have scored in the Grafton

dumb hey.

since the 2007/08 season kone has played 120 games scoring 26 goals.

with a MASSIVE 11 for wigan in one season where i thought he was crap for most of the season apart from the odd game. loads of better players in that wigan side than kone. oh and rickie lambert has scored the same amount of goals since 2009 as kone has his WHOLE career. yet we paid a reported £6m+ for kone.

but you are right since joining everton he became a super star 20/25 goals a season striker.

ffs.

The thing thats keeping me reasonably positive about him is the fact that he'll have well better players around him than he did at Wigan. He did make a number of chances on goal in each of the games he played before getting injured - literally the only thing missing from his game was actually bagging one of them.

I reckon he'll be decent next season though. Solid pre-season under his belt, match fitness returned, and a subsequent run of games in Europe/domestic cups will do him good. He just needs that first goal to break his duck with us.

Plus, Roberto rates him, therefore I'll give him a solid crack of the whip first.
