English is easier as its ubiquitous. Hollywood and music industry means its everywhere.

Picking up other languages is harder if you're not exposed to them daily

English is obvious easier unless you're in a country where there is no television, no billboards, no radio, etc. As a Brit living in Germany I can confirm - as if you couldn't guess yourself - that English is absolutely everywhere over here. You cannot avoid it, which of course helps those learning it immensely. Put yourself in our position in the UK when we want to learn a language, we have no such aids to help us out.

I tought the germans was dubbing everything into german?

English is actually one of the hardest languages to pick up if you're not a native speaker. It was probably easier for you if you learn it growing up, as younger people pick up languages a lot more quickly. Asking somebody aged 28 to pick it up is a big task though.
I did learn it while growing up so it was rather easy, but my dad is able to make a normal conversation (with the obvious grammar errors here and there, but ->) and he's never been taught English in his entire life, just what he picked up from TV/music.

Norwegian must be the easiest language to learn in the world. I learned it already when i was just a few years old
Same with Bulgarian for me mate, piss easy, knew how to speak it before even going to school, like.
Obviously languages become harder to pick up when you're older, but English is definitely one of the easier languages to pick up. Grammatically, it's quite simple.
^ That's what I meant.

Anyway, Kone's out for a while then? Cartilage could mean we'll see him next season...

English is a modern language made up from all the easier bits of Latin, saxon, French, whatever viking language was spoken and the original celtic (or whatever language that was here first).

What I am badly trying to say is that all the people that invaded England left their language behind and it helped make up todays English. It is easy to speak because it was a new langauge.

French was the official language of England for 600 years!!

Kone lads! I can't help but feel that his injury has made him a bad signing.

We were never gonna get many years service out of him, and we were highly unlikely to make any money back.

We just lost a whole season on him, ffs...

Nice info, but I think this thread is starting to drift a bit.
