Its not the truth, its an opinion. A lazy one at that.

Actually mate, im fairly sure its the truth, if you think Kone has been anything more than utter pony so far I feel for your soul.

Most of his "fans" keep chanting the mantra "Give him time", so im pretty sure they agree hes utter tripe.

I judge players on how they perform on the football pitch, I watched Kone last Season, he was terrible then and hes been terrible so far for us, hes missed 3 basically open goals so far, its not a lazy opinion its a fact based one based on him being complete tosh.

He's not even close to tosh. He looked dangerous yesterday and got in the position. Just didnt go for him. GIVE HIM TIME.

It just didn't go for him? He missed the target under no pressure from 6 yards out. If that's excusable with 'it just didn't go for him' then what's the point in discussing footballers' ability?

I can see him being this season's Naismith.

The fans will get on his back more and more as the season progresses and he'll be worse for it.

Ignoring the fact that I always want Everton to score, for the above suspicion I really regret him missing yesterday.

Oh and in 'getting into the position' he only ran a few yards forward getting himself offside. Another linesman would have give that.

Better players than he have missed those chances, but nobody is objective of their criticism. Yes, he should have put it away but people are massively over-reacting to a player missing a chance because they KNOW he's ****. We've been fortunate in recent years that a lot of our signings have bedded in almost immeadiately. When one doesnt, he gets so much flak its ridiculous.

One might say that Jelavic would have buried Kone's sitter.

On the other hand Jelavic would have never ran at a defender and got a shot off like Kone did moments after missing.

They each depress me equally, praise Jebus we have Lukaku this season.

I'm basing my opinion on last year as well, though, always thought he was crap for Wigan anyway. Lucky to get that number of goals.

Fine, but nobody is flexible about these players is my point. The circumstances are different, the players he is playing with are different, so maybe it could reap different results from the player? But if he doesnt do it in the first couple of games, posters think this somehow reaffirms their opinion.
I'd also say, what possible benefit is there to being right about a player being crap? Whats the payoff for you?
