He wasn't that great for Wigan imo and can't get on the pitch now. It's not writing him off, it's looking at the reality of the situation.

I hope he comes good, makes no sense for me not to. But this debate on "writing him off," I mean, who cares? His play will dictate whether he's a success or not. Everything else is just a bunch of guys on the internet arguing about something they can't possibly predict with any measure of success.

People giving our players crap when they come off the bench, name is called etc- does he deserve that?!

I guess I'm not seeing that on a wide scale? Certainly there are idiots no matter the situation who will do that.

I'm not sure we acquire this guy if we already had Lukaku in the squad. And we gave up a pretty good player (Anichebe) to make room for him. The guy needs to play better and force his way onto the pitch.

And whoever keeps harping about Jelavic's wonderful effort, we must be watching two completely different players. He's 6'2" and gives up on every ball in the air, or gives it his mock effort, trying to make it look like he's trying but he isn't.

It's your god given right mate, I just don't get it- particularly new signings look to make a name for themselves. Writing them off before they've even had a chance isn't in me- unless we sign Titus Bramble.

How many games has Titus Bramble played for us?

Its unfair to write him off before hes even kicked a ball.

Thats the logic of the Kone "fans", right there, you named a tosh player, a player you have watched over the years and formed a viewpoint on, then somebody comes along and says "Give him time", as if suddenly your gonna change your mind, its not like hes gonna get better with age.

Just sayin.

It all reminds me of the Saha thing, some fans called him King, it made me laugh, he was a shocking footballer and I think a lot of it is down to reverse racism.

Welcome to 2013 folks.

There's so much wrong with this above comment that I genuinely wouldn't know where to begin.

you started early on the wacky backy mate, louis saha was a class act on his day

Shocking performances sometimes, but as a 'footballer' in the way they use it to mean technical aspect there were few better forwards than Saha in the entire league.

Saha is technically one of the best players we've had in the last 12 years or so. Two superb feet, on his day he was superb. Pity he was made of glass.
