Most fans know that Kirkby is as scouse as anywhere, in fact more scouse than Wavertree and Kensington which are mainly populated by out of towners. Kirkby was, up until some bureaucrat in the 70s got a ruler out and drew a few lines, in Liverpool City Council Boundaries.

People tend to be hung up on the word 'Kirkby' as if we're moving from a city to a town, when in fact, Liverpool is made up of small towns and villages, so we would one way or another be moving from a town or village to another town, with the only difference being one votes for LCC (officially the worst run in the country) and one votes for Knowsley Borough Council.

Despite this, some people are determined to keep Everton under the rule of LCC. So far, KEIOC have offered no financially viable options within the current boundaries. However, there is one financially viable option within LCC borders, it's a few hundred metres from Goodison, and in fact is our original home, Stanley Park. However there is only one drawback, in order for it to be allowed, and for it to be financially viable, it would have to be a joint venture with Liverpool Football Club, who are also struggling for finances. This is financially and realistically the only viable option, so, to all those anti-move campaigners, would you rather we move into our own stadium in Kirkby, or, in order to remain under the juristiction of the Liberal Democrats, would you rather be willing to share with Liverpool FC?

It's a lot of hot air about nothing, fact is EFCs new ground will be where the owners of EFC want it to be.

My back garden. That'll do nicely. all members of GOT are invited in for a beer after the match to put the world to rights. Best alternative idea yet.

indeed it will.

although, i would be willing to share with Liverpool FC rather than proceed with the current plan, from what i know of it. however that isn't in order to remain under the juristiction of the Liberal Democrats or to remain in liverpool or to avoid moving to kirkby, but simply because i think it's a better option for everton fc.

The architects behind Cavern Walks and St. James Park (Newcastle) have teamed up to show what is possible with a shared stadium. They were on radio merseyside yesterday talking about it.

I can't fathom some of you would want to get into bed with the devil so quickly to stay out of Kirkby.

it wouldnt make sense to build anywhere in liverpool, because we would be paying for the stadium, ie. taking on massive amounts of debt, like a certain rs. it doesnt make sense when we have an option to get a stadium for almost nothing, albeit a couple of miles away. but i personally feel, progression is more important than location. and even if we did raise the money for our own stadium, go to kirkby anyway and put the money into players. it doesnt matter where the stadium is, once you are inside you are inside, the turd will be the same and its what goes on on the pitch that matters.

The best idea is a ground share but considering the Reds are to stubborn for that to be a goer and there has not been any official alternative to Kirkby then looks like we're set for Kirkby.

Your highness, the Kirkby project is nowhere near free. It's costing £110 minimum - all borrowed money.

Wouldn't mind a joint stadium to be honest, my only problem would be the state of the pitch. Most team who share pitches in italy or spain struggle to keep their pitches to a standard which allows football to be played on !!!

Don't know if a stadium with two retractable pitches ala the amsterdam arena would be do'able or not, i think its a pretty cool idea though and would save both clubs money (not that i'm over concerned with saving the rs money (n) )

Well it looks like sharing is not going to be an option (never was actually) - DIC are very close to owning 50% of the rs and probably more soon. DIC are led by LFC fan (since the 70's) Sameer Al Ansari, additionally Sheik Maktoum - the fifth richest man in the world and according to the Echo boyhood LFC fan has been directly involved in the negotiations. I expect them to proceed with the plans they've already got planning permission for on Stanley Park but in which the yanks embarassingly found too costly.

Kirkby it is for us but I was always delighted with that anyway.
