Confirmed Signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

Started out as a striker in the youth teams, scoring 40+ one season apparently. So wouldn't be surprised if Moyes tries him up front for us if we had a bad injury crisis, like he did with Cahill & Fellaini the one season. Very unlikely, but a nice option if needed.

….i like a footballer with a prolific goalscoring pedigree. Goalscorers have an understanding of where they are on the pitch in relation to the goal and the opposition goalkeeper, I think that awareness of what’s around them has to help when playing in other areas of the pitch.

Genuinely suprised at how dismissive a section of the fanbase, primarily on here, appear to be over this signing..

I get that we still have a couple of gaps that could really do with plugging before the close of the window.. but can't help but feel that this is being really underestimated considering the options we've had to put up with for ages until now. This lad can evolve the way we play for the better.

I was exaggerating by saying he was one of our greatest ever signings. But he would deffo get into our all time starting 11

I am looking forward to the possibility of watching an Everton midfielder retain possession. After recent years my bar is low. Not treating the ball like a UXB will do. He and Garner might actually give us control but we still need Gana’s energy so we might see more of that 433/4141 experiment in season.

This is the thing, the best balance is with KDH left and more advanced than Garner on the right.

Where does Gana play? He's not an anchor, not a RCM.

Its either KDH or Gana imo.

Confident that we'll look back on this as a great signing. Not flashy but can see how he will have a big impact on the first 11 and how it is setup to play.

How do you see it?

This lad could genuinely be our talisman in midfield for the next few years. Best new signing we've made this summer.

He broke into the leicester city side at 23. Previously never included in England youth sides.

For 2 seasons at 23 and 24 he was ok for Leicester. A good player for them and probably would say a mid table premier league level all rounder. Similar to a left sided Garner who is better as a more advanced CM.

At 25 he had an incredible season in the championship and then moved to Chelsea who he was a backup player with. They then wanted to sell him and punted him at book value + add ons so will turn a profit for PSR.

I'm not sure why you love this guy so much. You'd play him over Gana and think he'll be a talisman?

Hope youre right of course and dont like to rain on your parade, for me he'll he a backup player within 2 seasons, if the club are serious about challenging.

Every player we have should be looked at as 'good.... for now'. Every year we should be looking to upgrade 3-4 players, selling the ones who have been upgraded for a decent fees for smaller clubs on that similar journey. Successful sides build a squad, that squad has a solid spine with interchangeable pieces that are constantly being upgraded and sold on to keep things fresh.
I hope that's the journey we have started here. KDH will be a terrific signing for us and will be part of our spine. Garner, Mcneil, Patterson are the ones that (if they don't add more to their game) will be on the block next season. That's exactly how it should be done.

So youre saying for example KDH replaces Gana. Then you want to sell Gana to a smaller side?

Or Aznou replaces Mykolenko and you want him sold to a smaller side?

Same for Barry...i dont think any of this is realistic this summer.

I also wouldnt do this in future either.
