I see what you’re saying, although some of why we see Everton like that is because of how people on here see things. We’ve become so used to seeing false dawns or getting the sh*tty end of the stick that we catastrophise all the time. I still remember the season before last people on here were talking about how Luton might win 5 of their last 7 games and overtake us, despite them only having won about 3 all season.

We’re so used to the old Everton sticking its head in a barrel full of tits and coming up sucking its thumb that we always assume the worst. You’re right in that we have been a car crash under Moshiri, but at the same time we were basically a mid table PL club last season, now with new owners and an incredible new ground. Maybe now we’re the “ugly” girl in the American teen movies and we’ve just taken our glasses off to reveal that actually we’re quite fit. This time next year we’ll be beating signings off with a stick!

The reports do seem to agree that we want two CM not just KDH. Bobble apparently confirmed we had asked about the Almeria Senegalese yellow card machine Dion Lopy but were not impressed when they quoted €20m. I think a DM remains a target. Who and when? No idea.

‘Yeah I was gutted Chelsea never played me in the league when I was smashing it in Europe so I wanted out before they buy another 20 players and yous were the best club that came in for me.

When you look at the valuation of Doak and McAtee, it’s difficult to argue we’ve been overcharged. Fulham bought a 27 year old Iwobi off us for £22 million 2 years ago.

If you told 80s me that an almost-becoming-a-squad player from a yo-yo team like Chelsea would improve an everton midfield, I'd have laughed at you. I'm crying now at how far we've dropped.
