He'd probably end up being too expensive, but I think he'd be a really useful addition to the squad. He's played most of the season for Sunderland at left back and could cover for Baines. He knows where the goal is and is a specialist free-kick taker. As a leftwinger he made a sensentional debut for England and popped up with a couple of goals on their US trip. He can also play in central midfield and could provide a creative spark alongside Arteta and Pienaar. He's still only 25 too.

Might be worth an enquiry.

He's a horrible, horrible footballer. I personally wouldn't clap that onto the pitch. He's a classic example of billy big boots before he made the big time.

Wasn't he meant to be one of the players to take us to the next level that we missed out on and people went mad?

Add him alongside Alan Smith, Jason Koumas and Robert Huth.

On his day he was good.... Played blinders for west brom, man united, and sunderland especially in derbys.

But never has done it over a full season. Nowhere near as good for where we are at the moment.
