….i’ve been posting for a long time how bad he is, I’ve even stopped posting in this thread because his supporters don’t like him being criticised.

Will enjoy a few rums tonight ;)
What? That doesn't answer my question.

How has he done a bad job?

You have taken an opinion on him and even though some of his signings are now proving to be much better players then they looked under a manager who who could see no wrong in at all for a long long time you will not acknowledge that.

Part of me is wary about this, if we go Weir and Doherty beneath him, its back to old boys club 😂

I have no idea if they're best for the job if they are so be it - but you know the shouts be coming already about this.
I wouldn't be wary at all...Doherty would be a brilliant appointment.

Atalanta seems to be doing ok with the players they've brought in.

Just because they've been at us previously doesn't mean they wouldn't be a good appointment.

Moyes has proved going back isn't always the wrong decision ha.

Ahh ok so Rob Newman worked with Moyes at West Ham?

I think Weir is nailed on tbh - I know theyve spoken to him a few times.
Don't want a Moyes old boys club. Recruitment wasn't great at West Ham. Therefore, Moyes' recruitment methods with his cronies haven't been at their peak in almost 15 years. Football has changed so much since then.

I could imagine Rob Newman comes in to head recruitment. He worked with Moyes at West Ham I think. Maybe Weir to come in and do all the other sporting director stuff outside of recruitment.
I think this sounds quite plausible, certainly Weir won't really have the recruitment portfolio at Brighton but may well be very good as a technical director.

But the big concern though is that all this is just Moyes belling round his mates.

All managers come and go, and are only ever so many games from the sack, regardless of how well Moyes is currently doing.

Does he get the keys to the kingdom entirely? If he goes through a rough patch and has to be sacked does our entire football structure go with him?

Doherty has only been at Atalanta about a year hasn't he? So most of their superb recruitment precedes him.

Always going to happen seeing there was no word on him extending his contract. Bit worried as effectively we are changing everything at once, might work, might go absolutely pete tong.

Was told that Weir would come here when Dyche was sacked. Still on.

Yeah this is the worry for me too. Not that I'm against any of those individuals coming in as such, but shouldn't all be driven by the manager IMO

They won a European trophy under him...It can't have been that bad.

This "old boys club" shout carries absolutely not weight.

We think in these terms because Kenwright surrounded himself with cronies.

Weir and Doherty are hardly slumming it in the Scottish league 1 are they.
