There's nothing wrong with the players Moyes recruits. He's much better at finding talent at the right price than any of the DOFs we've had since he left in 2012.

Except thelwell. Reckon they’ve both got that talent tbf so maybe no need to duplicate

Look I think Thelwell has done a decent job considering everything he has had during his time here.

It's a shame he is leaving, but I thought this was always going to happen with TFG coming in, having their own ideas and his contract out this summer. Easy way to cut ties and set up what they want.

What I dont want, is for it to be Weir in and old boys club again. Weir while doing a decent job at Brighton, he was working in a system and club which was set up for success, and how much Ashworth (even though he had a shocker at UTD) was key to that while he was doing his other role I dont know.

I just want the best for the role, not anything else.

Be interesting to see how this is set up from the summer onwards.

Don't agree with him leaving.

Several more hits than misses, in a time we needed stability. Appreciate the work he's done.

We need the replacement in before the summer. You can't have someone join in July and expect a successful transfer window

Most of that work will already have been done, if not all, in terms of identifying and making initial approaches.

You still need someone in charge to complete the deals. That's the hardest part, and really nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.

I imagine Weir as technical director and then head scouts working for him in the recruitment role.

I just dont want this to put a massive summer back, back to recruiting latter end of the year - hoping Moyes has a huge say on whats needed to anyone new coming in.
