We doTop Player...we could do worse now.
Yes. Lineker was a mistake because we changed a bit for him. Everyone else a bit deeper then. Not that he did a bad job, but our midfielders always had a goal in them.Incredible running off the ball at all times!!! Players running intelligently into space like Bracewell popping up on right hand side of box while others covered him in "his" part of the pitch. We were very hard to read because so many different players stepped up to the plate to make a difference at important times. A true team, not dependent on one or two individuals.
Good point. He scored many exciting goals but we played better as a team before and after him.Yes. Lineker was a mistake because we changed a bit for him. Everyone else a bit deeper then. Not that he did a bad job, but our midfielders always had a goal in them.

Every time I scored a goal I used to shout sheedy sheedy sheedy!!! Was therefore my nickname in three different Sunday league sides!!...I'm very old but watch plenty of footy. When a ball comes off the pitch I often return it with a belt of a left foot and a shout of 'Sheedy'.
Please don't swear.V sign to the sh*** perfection. And could guide a proper ball, not designed to make it easy, anywhere he liked. With him and Trev on opposite wings opposition must have been terrified.

Also notice how great inchy Heath was beating men setting up chances Sheedy in his autobiography stated he rated him as the best striker to play with!Yeah. I remember that day. We were surrounded by Celtic fans who were so impressed that they said to us that if we were wearing gold shirts that day, they would have though they were watching Brazil.
For you younger readers, THIS is Everton. Not the insipid mess that Sky TV have been mocking us with.

Being left footed and playing football in Manchester until a few years ago I got the same shout 'from Mancs' that is how much our man was revered.Every time I scored a goal I used to shout sheedy sheedy sheedy!!! Was therefore my nickname in three different Sunday league sides!!
