Yes. Lineker was a mistake because we changed a bit for him. Everyone else a bit deeper then. Not that he did a bad job, but our midfielders always had a goal in them.

Good point. He scored many exciting goals but we played better as a team before and after him.

We played it over the top for him to chase most of the time. Glad to see the back of Lineker.

Sheedy on the other had was and still is a God. That left peg, that double free-kick against Ipswich, that 'V' sign to the kop.

...I'm very old but watch plenty of footy. When a ball comes off the pitch I often return it with a belt of a left foot and a shout of 'Sheedy'.

Every time I scored a goal I used to shout sheedy sheedy sheedy!!! Was therefore my nickname in three different Sunday league sides!!

The stuttering start we had trying to re-jig the team around him eventually cost us, especially the very early Derby defeat.

Being left footed and playing football in Manchester until a few years ago I got the same shout 'from Mancs' that is how much our man was revered.
