Just been looking back ... the last 4 seasons Lukaku, Barkley and Miralles have been clocking up more appearances each year than any of our other attacking players. So we literally have at a stroke lost our entire front line. Obviously Lukaku is far the biggest loss of the three, Barkley and Miralles were both frustrating players to watch, not showing us their talent consistently enough, rarely influencing the outcome of games. Nonetheless losing them has shown up our lack of strength in depth. How do you build a forward line from scratch capable of scoring the goals to fire us into the top 4 ? The answer is that you don't - even if you're Man City. You have to patiently build up your squad strength over a period of years and accept that mistakes will be made along the way, and some players may take time to get up to speed. Unfortunately we made several mistakes last summer, and that's really set us back.

Before the game all the kids had a little 'meet & greet' with the players, and Kev had all the time in the world for them, happy to pose for photos with a genuine smile on his face and signing match programmes. He is my lad's favourite player, and as luck would have it, he was the player my lad was paired with to walk out onto the pitch with at the start of the game. Kev was really good with him and my lad still randomly goes on about it all the time months later. So for that reason alone I hope he signs a new 9 year contract, cos if he leaves my boy will be heartbroken lol

Just had to have 'the chat' with my boy, he's almost in tears FFS. I've tried making him feel better by telling him that Tosun will be proper boss, more out of desperation to stop him crying rather than belief :oops:

I liked Kev, bags of talent, but his attitude, though sometimes a help, was often a hindrance too. At the age of 30, he's unlikely to give us much more, so the loan is probably for the best, and hopefully, for him, is a chance to get his career back on track, and make the move permanent.

I hope he does well, they still love him out there, and Kev needs to be loved.
 
Good riddance to a bad egg, enjoyed some of his performances over the years but ultimately he had to go. Morgan has got to be next.

Could never understand his lack of fitness for such a young man. But at the end of the day he had very good assist/chances created stats for the amount of minutes on the pitch. He was at worst an excellent option to have off the bench. The only player to really get me off my seat on a regular basis since Kanchelskis.;)

Wow... Over Mirallas?

Good job he wasn't round in the 90's.
 
Thanks for the good times Kev. Few and far between unfortunately, but at least I think you got the club, especially on derby days.

Never forget the on pitch bollocking you gave Fellaini for that disgraceful performance he gave in the quarter final against Wigan.
