I don't think he ever really recovered from the hamstring problems he had in his first season, I think it was the maverick doctor in Bayern (who Pep despised) who managed to stop them pinging every other week but his speed was never the same.

For the fee we paid for him, he's obviously been a decent enough player for us but the decision to award him that new contract was absolutely criminal. He's been a wage thief was some time now and the fact he couldn't even hack it in Greece leads me to suspect fiorentina will sending him back to us in January.
