Kevin Doyle??

Driving into work this morning and the sports news (in Ireland) had reported that we could be making a move for Kevin Doyle, anyone else hear anything on it??

He's the type of player who I could see Moyes bringing in so I wouldn't rule it out completely

yea i heard it yesterday myself on local radio here in dublin he is totally a moyes type of player and could play number of positions.i think change of club could benefit him

Seems like lazy Journalism............coming up with a reason why he was at the wolves game. Doyle would be a step away from what we are trying to build at the moment, not to mention would cost more than he is worth and can afford.

Two years ago, maybe.

He'd be a step backwards today though, unless it was for very cheap, i.e. about 3m. After all, he'd be an improvement on Anchovy on the bench.

Possibly but it was on a national station's sports bulletin and they dont usually fill their time with silly transfer talk which is why I thought that their MIGHT be something to it

After seeing Fletcher go to Sunderland for 12m (LOL) I cant see us going for Doyle, we havent got 1.2Billion anyway

Quite like Doyle myself, think he ticks all the boxes as a Moyes's kind of player. Don't think we can afford him though. Also swooping for Doyle will surely mean we won't be making a move for/lost out on Niang?

Daily Fail are reporting double swoop for Doyle and Ward. The scariest thing about this is that they are both very 'moyes like' signings but i will be gutted if this is how we reinvest the rodwell money. Squad players at best.

IMO I dont think that Ward is on the radar at all but I dont think Doyle would be a bad shout, he's very similar to AJ, wont get you too many goals but if you go back to the utd game with 20 mins to go when Jelavic was on his knees - bringing on Doyle in that situation would have been a useful outlet
