He doesn't have an excellent record but players who come here under Moyes who have had, he has converted to try to play like Doyle. Why not just buy the player who Moyes really wants? He would do an excellent job, and would do what Moyes wants, as well as chipping in a few goals.

I'm not saying I don't like Doyle. He's alright and very much a hard worker.

I'd just rather someone who knows where the goal is. Even if it's been in Scotland.

I know. I would like a goalscorer too, but to fit in with Moyes style, its unlikely that we'll ever have an out and out goalscorer. To be honest I'm not too bothered which one we get. I want a striker in, and I want our style to change (cos I think that we do have the midfielders to play good football).

Conisdering our financial situation I would rather have a striker that suits Moyes lineup, the lone striker would suit Doyle more the most, this may free up cahill to do what cahill does best and ghost in behind play. Only time will tell though.

Jelavic may have a good goalscoring in SPL, buit look at his other years, one half decent season in his entire career:
2002–2007 Hajduk Split 35 (8)
2007–2008 Zulte Waregem 23 (3)
2008–2010 Rapid Vienna 70 (25)
2010– Rangers 45 (30)
Croatia 14 (2)

Its not impressive reading; Doyle has a 1 in 3 1/2 strike rate throughout his time in England, and a 10 in 46 for international.

Let's go mad and get both!!

His record isnt bad since he was 22 though is it ?

I would prefer Doyle over Jelavic! I like his style of play, a worker and I think he could be a building block for a successful rest of season.

Well considering he scored 17 of his 25 goals for vienna in 09/10 then I wouldn't say its great; the last 2 season he has been consistent in 2 poor leagues.

But saying that, if he moves more than Saha and can finish i'll be happy. I'm more concerned with us speding what little money we have on someone who may prove to be another expensive mistake. I just think Moyes would get more out of Doyle; but he gets paid £65k a week to make those decisions

Wolves are waiting to see whether Everton firm up their interest in striker Kevin Doyle by making a concrete bid.

Sources close to the midlands club insist the Toffees have not made official contact over the out-of-favour Doyle.

But they are aware he has been on Everton's radar for the past two months and have earmarked Newcastle's Leon Best as a possible loan replacement should there be developments.

That's right, I'm not going anywhere this transfer window. Well, that's a lie... I'm on my way to KFC now, but don't tell the gaffer.

Kettering???? :-)

I'm not sure he can make that statement until the window is closed, but I didn't really think he was coming here anyway. Think he'd be a strong addition, though, if used properly.
