Kevin and Chebe up front

A decent nickname is fine with me (psycho, shaggy etc). The likes of jellyfish and peanuts make me cringe myself inside out. Also, first names in an over familiar way remind me too much of our pals across the park.

HOWEVER...each to their own.

I'd like to see him wide. Anichebe played better the other night when Jelavic was still on the field as it meant Anichebe had more space to run the channels and his link up play was good. As soon as Jelavic went off they just crowded Anichebe out and we started hitting long balls. As bad as Jelavic's miss was, his work rate and hold up play hasn't been too bad, he may enjoy a bit more freedom from defenders if Anichebe plays alongside him against Bolton. Also with Felli a bit further back in that system, it would mean Jelavic may get the ball earlier, as currently everything goes through Felli when he plays and Jelavic has suffered as a result. Whereas last season Jelavic was the guy everyone was trying to pass to and he thrived on it.

It'd be a fairly attacking line-up away from home in a cup match, so I'd be amazed if Moyes went that way, but with Mirallas out wide and Anichebe playing off Jelavic it may provide us with some great link-up play in the final third, with the chances likely to fall for strikers rather than midfielders.

some good and valid points, problem is jelavic looks ****ed, why ? who knows, Vic certainly deserves a start though typically when he gets constant starts and his confidence picks up, he gets lazy / plays **** / both

I think when he’s up top alone especially with Pienaar and Naismith are out wide, when Felli drops in to help out the midfield, then he’s isolated and having to run wide to provide an option for an outlet. This season he’s had the ball in wide areas a lot more than he did last season. It’s adding to his work rate but for me in all the wrong areas. With Anichebe alongside him for this game at least, and if Mirallas is wide right, then Jelavic won’t need to be hitting the touchlines to try and provide outlets, not alone anyway, cos Mirallas and Anichebe will be making runs as well. Once he can do more work in and around the box and less work in wide areas, we may see him get some sort of confidence back. The same thing happened to Saha, when he played through the middle he was banging then in, but suddenly he started popping up in wide areas looking for the ball and he became less of a goal threat.

we need someone behind jelavic who can pick him out in a pass neither Mirallas nor Felliani can do that, Kev 9 times out of 10 likes to go on his own and felli always passes out wide but as we are skint no point even thinking about it will be felliani behind jelly/anichebe with osman and neville in the center not sissoko or Mvila because Moyes divers and Kenwright is a snake.

I would play this against Bolton
......................Howard.....................
...Coleman.....Jag....Distin..........Baines...
.....................Fellaini...........................
....Mirallas.....Osman............Pienaar.........
...............Jelevic...Vic.....................

I like that. More pace on both flanks than most other teams and the potential for losts of supply to the front men.

To be honest, I never really liked Fellaini as a CF/CAM, I think it cheapens what he is, and I also think teams have found him out so it's time to move him back into central midfield, preferably next to Gibson when fit. also I am sick of us playing the long diagonal recently and our pretty football from earlier on in the season seems to be evading us more and more as the games go by.

I think we need someone with vision in behind Jelavic who can slot balls through and split defenses from a central positions, and I would hardly describe Fellaini as a playmaker, so between Fellani not really having much vision, and Baines and Pienaar overplaying it at times on the left, and our piss poor right hand side I think it would be hard for any ST to score a goal, not just Jelavic.

On Mirallas while I would like to see him upfront we really can't afford to do it at the moment due to our poor right hand side, Mirallas suits the right side at the moment because he doesn't really have anyone to play with over there which means he can be as greedy as he want's, maybe try some solo runs to open teams up because its better than anything else we have from that area of the pitch right now.
