I like a couple of ASAP Rocky tracks but he's miles off Kendrick in terms of actually rapping ability, plus Kendricks lyrics are on another level all together imo.

ASAP Rockys main advantage is that he works with Clams Casino who despite being an awful producer from a technical perspective has a real talent for a catchy sample/hook.

Both very different rappers IMO. Kendrick has his way, Rocky has his. Rocky has stuck to his way of music since day one, the sort of wavey laid back stuff, that's what I love. Kendrick has a lot of differs vibes which are all so good. He's on another level to pretty much everyone but still I think Rocky will come up big on his next album. Pretty Flacko 2 and the snippet of Talking About M's has got me so hyped for his next album.

Love the message Kendrick is gettingn across as well, nice to see.

One for the money
And the free rides
It's two for the lie
That you denied
All rise
(All rise)
All rise
(All rise, all rise)
Three for the calls
You've been making
It's four for the times
You've been faking
All rise
(I'm gonna tell
It to your face)
All rise
(I rest my case)

It sounds like a bag of springs and washing machine parts shoved down some stairs.

Only to people who don't have varied taste in music (usually rock fans tbh). The track has a clear key to it so i don't understand why you think it sounds like a bag of springs and washing machine parts shoved down stairs. Maybe you just haven't got a very musical ear mate... as unbearbly pretentious as that sounds it's the only logical reason i can come to as to why you think it sounds like what you described.

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most crticially acclaimed artists in recent years in all genres, his debut album was praised by music critics and fans worldwide and was top of many 'album of the year' lists. Like it or not he's considered to be massively talented... because he quite clearly is regardless of your view on his music.

It's a big world and room for all tastes but this Lamar rubbish makes my face melt! Just laughable mate.

whats laughable about it ? the fact the lyrics are more intelligent and interesting than most music ?

Im going to assume you listened to it briefly, heard some guy rapping and instantly thought it was some mindless 'gangster rap' without even bothering to try and comprehend the point of the song and what he's saying. This seems to be the token reaction from people who only listen to rock/guitar based music.

If you don't like the music then fair enough but don't try and make out this is somehow lowbrow or laughable especially as its generally viewed as the complete opposite of both those things.

oh and for the record i love rock, jazz, soul, hip hop, countless genres of electronic music etc... different genres have different appeals and areas of focus.

I love hip hop like this because its raw and uncompromising, i love jazz because its insanely detailed and intricate, i like dnb because i nothing beats the feel of 40hz hitting you straight in the chest, and so on.
