Kendall thinks Everton should go after Wayne Rooney

Can we knock the silliness on the head in here now?

No more off topic posts please, and no more petty bickering.

I have a confession to make. When I was a young, immature, little Evertonian, wanting glory and wanting success in HK's second spell, I called him 'Porky Pig' on the radio. In my defence, I was not even an Evertonian when he'd already left the club in his first spell so I plead ignorance.

I totally admire his fairytale desire for Rooney to come back, but think it's unrealistic.

One of the things that was magical when I was a kid, was when HK described Everton as his marriage and Man City as just an affair.

Yeah, there's a fair few quotes like that from Evertonians down the years (Dixie, Ball, Big Nev, Dave Hickson, Dunc, Timmy). They're one of us.

That's why having our 4th longest-serving captain ever being a lifelong red-manc is a little unsettling.

Would Howard have lost 3-0 to Wigan ?
Would he Shi*e lads.
Even in real time.. the now.. He wouldnt have lost like that on Saturday.
Behave will you.

Now, I am in your corner over Howard....I love the man.

But don't kid yourself.

Howard had his moments before Oxford United.

Everton 0 Liverpool 5

And I was there to witness that fiasco with my very own eyes

Im not kidding myself.
Joe Royle was unbeaten against Liverpool, would you rather I used Joe ?

The only way we'd get Rooney here is either as a 33+ veteran, or Bill sells him a stake in the club. We may scrounge the cash to buy him, but we'd never be able to pay him.

love the way people take the piss out of everton football clubs greatest ever manager

This in spades. Perhaps it's cos we were about when he led us through such a successful spell and we're still dining out on those memories.

Regardless of his personal demons - which might even be an over-statement, but either way it's none of my business - I still love the bloke and he "gets" Everton in ways that others would do well to listen to. Even if they don't agree, they should at least respect him. He's earned that.

And I also echo the comment earlier in the thread about him at least having some ambition. Again, far too many fans appear to have resigned themselves to abject mediocrity. That comes from having a bulb like Moyes in charge, dampening down (aka "managing" in his dictionary) expectations to the extent that it throttles the life out of us all.

I think he's right with Rooney...

Problem is unless we get bought out its impossible this summer. Over the following 2 summers it should be looked into. The lad himself has really got to want it because sacrifices on his part will have to be made (wages wise) and we still need to be a club challanging towards the top and Europe.

Rooney probably has more coin than BK he should put an offer in being he's such a blue like, imagine Collen being our Delia...
